Jay VanHousen

Jay is an open book – an easy-going, solution-driven straight shooter with 24 years of experience who cites industry knowledge, high-touch customer service, and 24/7 accessibility as keys to his success. Interacting with clients and helping them overcome their recruiting and hiring challenges is what Jay enjoys most about his role as Sr. Director of Clinical & Scientific Partnerships for The Steely Group.

Prior to joining The Steely Group, Jay served as Regional Sales Director for the Life Sciences Division of Randstad USA, where he was responsible for building out the sales organization and client partnerships for the Midwest and West regions. During his tenure, he was a consistent top producer, Performer of the Year in 2021, and 13-time President Club winner.

Jay launched his career in staffing with Aerotek after earning a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.

In addition to his work, Jay is most passionate about his family. He and his wife, Amy, have three children, all of whom are heavily involved in sports including field hockey, volleyball, cross-country, travel soccer, and flag football. When he’s not at one of the kids’ sporting events, Jay enjoys spending time with friends, boating and fishing on weekend getaways to Bohners Lake, Wisconsin, and a good Pinot Noir.
