Tim Borop

Clinical Recruiter

Digging in and developing relationships with candidates is what Tim enjoys most about recruiting. “This is a partnership,” he says, “and being a trusted advisor for a candidate’s next career move, or the person who can make a difference at the end of the day is very rewarding.” Tim brings great energy, enthusiasm, a healthy dose of competition, and nearly 25 years of life sciences recruiting experience to his role as Clinical Recruiter for The Steely Group.

Prior to joining The Steely Group, Tim served as a Senior Account Executive and Executive Recruiter for PointOne Recruiting Solutions, a franchise under the MRI Recruiting Network where he specialized in the biopharma, chemical, manufacturing and medical device industries. Tim’s niche was in QA/QC, validation, and compliance/regulatory roles, and in 2019, he finished his first full year with the company as the #4 “Newcomer/Rookie” for the entire MRI Network (300+ offices).

Before that, Tim was a Practice Director and Recruiter for the Preferred Clients and HR divisions at Randstad Professionals-US, where he built and managed a team of recruiters and salespeople dedicated to support the HR and Sales/Marketing practice.

Tim began his recruiting career in 1997. Having grown up in Illinois but, at the time, working and living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Tim walked into the local Manpower office hoping to find an opportunity closer to his hometown, family and friends. Instead, he was offered an internal position as an Engineering recruiter and was soon promoted to Team Lead followed by Area Manager. Tim spent 17 years in various leadership roles at Manpower where he was dedicated to large pharma clients including Abbott, AbbVie and Baxter.

Tim holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, where he also played football. Outside of his work, Tim is most passionate about his family, but Chicago’s major sports teams – especially the Cubs – are a close second! He enjoys running with his silver lab, Max, to stay fit and loves to travel to places like Cave Creek, Anthem and Sedona in Arizona; the Ozarks in Missouri; and Lake Blue Ridge in the North Georgia Mountains.
