Leslie Hughes

Director of Business Development

Leslie brings an outgoing personality, strong client services background, and eight years of sales experience to The Steely Group. In her role as Director of Business Development, Leslie will source, grow and manage strategic partnerships that drive revenue for the firm’s Healthcare Practice.

Highly responsive and motivated by challenge, this energetic problem-solver prides herself on the collaborative relationships she continues to cultivate. “My top priority is being an advocate for my clients and candidates,” she says.

Leslie’s diversified experience includes a senior business development role at TM Floyd & Company, where she was well-known for her excellent post-sales support. During her tenure, Leslie grew the company’s customer base by 30%.

More recently, in true entrepreneurial spirit, Leslie converted a family hobby into a successful business. As co-owner of Mad Hatters Platters, Leslie designs and markets her unique serving pieces both online and in retail stores.

Leslie began her sales career as an account manager for Cirrus Technologies, where she increased sales by a staggering 700% and added 10 new clients for the start-up computer consulting business.

Leslie takes an active role in bettering her community by volunteering regularly. She has twice co-chaired the annual fundraising event and auction for Families Helping Families of DuPage County, and is very involved in her local school district. She spearheaded and coordinated the creation of the alumni Wall of Fame at Lincoln Junior High, where, for three years, she also served as a member of the Home & School Board.

Away from the office, Leslie enjoys spending time with family and friends, cheering on her sons at their many sporting events, and designing new pieces for her Mad Hatters Platters business. She also enjoys running (she’s completed three marathons so far!) and gardening.
