Director of Business Development
Kelly brings great energy and enthusiasm to her role as Director of Business Development for The Steely Group. She loves a challenge, thrives on problem solving, and is at her very best when she’s uber-busy. Kelly is tenacious — she’ll work tirelessly to understand her clients’ goals and ensure they achieve them.
Kelly’s entrepreneurial spirit and innate desire to learn have fueled her success throughout her career. Prior to joining The Steely Group, Kelly was a consistent top producer at The Evanston Group, where she served as Executive Recruiter and specialized in life sciences and healthcare placements for various F500 companies.
Before that, Kelly ran her own event-planning company, where she provided day-of coordination for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and other large events. She also has a background in catering and corporate concierge services.
Kelly received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Michigan. After graduation, she joined Children’s Memorial Hospital and served as a Kinesiologist and Department Assistant at their Motion Analysis Center. In addition to evaluating children’s muscle activity and joint motion using mathematical and video analysis, she prepared and delivered lectures to educate other motion centers about research data.
Away from the office, Kelly enjoys spending time with her husband Ken, and their white lab, Bear. Their love of travel sparked a yearlong series of monthly adventures she calls “12 in 12” – 12 trips over one long weekend each month for 12 months. So far, they’ve visited Vail, CO; Clearwater, FL; San Francisco, CA; Charleston, SC; and Nashville, TN. Kelly’s passion for cooking led her to the Culinary Institute of America in Napa, CA, where she spent days in the classroom and afternoons touring wineries. An avid foodie and wine enthusiast, she enjoys trying new restaurants and recreating recipes at home for her family and friends.
